Von Arnim’s participation in the presidential race was confirmed by the ITF this week, with the campaign period beginning immediately.
The new President will define the direction of the ITF and tennis for the coming four-year term (2024 to 2028). The election is due to take place on 24 September 2023 at the ITF General Meeting in Cancun, Mexico.
To announce his candidacy, Dietloff von Arnim stated his vision for the future of the ITF and tennis: “I believe leadership in tennis needs to change. We must do better – and I believe we can. This is why I am putting myself forward as a candidate to become the President of the ITF. My goal is to ensure that the ITF is held accountable for our decisions; and that our tournaments, at all levels of the game, are financially secure.”
“I want to work much more closely with the Federations – putting them first, and I pledge to be their voice. I will make sure everyone is represented equally, as we adapt for the future and seize the opportunities of the digital age.Having been involved in tennis for 45 years, I believe that with new leadership – founded on a principled, positive attitude and an absolute passion for our sport – the ITF’s greatest days lie ahead.”
