Doha, Qatar: The students of MES Indian School enthusiastically participated in various activities organised by the Campus Care Force to celebrate the World Environment Day 2023.
The event was held under a slogan ‘’Beat Plastic Pollution’’ focusing on the solutions to plastic pollution and need to live sustainably in harmony with nature.
On this occasion of the World Environment Day a myriad of creative activities were conducted for the students of KG to class 10 with a view to sensitize the children about the ways to restore our ecosystem and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful.
The day was flagged off by planting saplings by the tiny tots of kindergarten. A special assembly was held to celebrate the Environment Day wherein the students gave speech and displayed posters.
The most attractive event was the thematic dance performed by the junior kids giving the message to protect our wild life. This was followed by the students pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet for the ecosystem restoration.
To mark the occasion various competitions were organised for the students of all the classes. All these activities had given the students a platform to showcase their artistic and creative skills.
In addition to these, students made amazing and creative products like wall hangings, cards, pen stands, bags, paper box, flowers and even beautiful dresses.
Dr. Hameeda Kadar, the Principal, appreciated the efforts of all the students and inspired them to be the caretakers of the environment by active involvement in nurturing good habits among them. She also asked the students to do their bit by stopping the use of plastic bags, stop wasting food and to start recycling to make a greener tomorrow.
The events of the week rekindled emotive concerns and instigated the youngsters for transformative actions to reset the balance between people and the natural world to create a better future for all. Certificates were given to encourage the students for their active participation.
