DOHA: The first access road to the service road coming from Abd Al Aziz Bin Ahmad Intersection towards the Industrial area will be closed tomorrow and reopened for traffic the next day, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced yesterday.
Ashghal said the closure was part of development works on access roads branched from Salwa Road. Motorists coming from Abd Al Aziz Bin Ahmad Intersection heading to Aziziya area can use alternative roads during the temporary diversion period, added Ashghal.
According to the Authority, diverting traffic away from the main construction works on Salwa service roads will ensure safe and smooth traffic. Upon completion, Salwa Expressway will facilitate travel, thanks to its four lanes in each direction, four underpasses and the development of four crossroads.
Salwa Expressway is part of Ashghal’s Expressway Programme which is a nationwide road infrastructure development programme that will improve the way places are connected across Qatar.
