PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi
Italian international Thiago Motta confirmed he was staying at French giants PSG.
According to details on the club website, Motta, 35, has signed on for an extra season.
"It is a great pleasure to extend my contract at Paris Saint-Germain," Motta said in a post on the club website.
"I have a special history with the club, which has given me a lot of confidence over the last five years. The adventure continues and I am very happy," he added.
"We will continue to be competitive and we will give the maximum to go as far as possible in all the competitions in which we will participate," Motta said.
Brazilian-born Motta, who has played for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, was important to PSG, club president Nasser Al Khelaifi said.
"Without doubt Thiago is one of those who have contributed much to the growth of Paris Saint-Germain, in France and on the international scene," Al Khelaifi said on the club's website.
"We are very pleased to have extended the Thiago contract.
"He is an important member of the squad and his leadership and knowledge of the game are very much appreciated by our supporters.
"After having already won many titles under our colors, he will help us next season to carry out our ambitions, " Al Khelaifi said.
Motta has asserted himself since his arrival at the club in January 2012 as one of the leaders of the Rouge et Bleu.
A member of the Ligue 1 standard team in 2014, the Italian international (30 selections) has contributed to the 15 titles won by Paris Saint-Germain since 2013.
At 35, Motta will continue his career as a Player for an additional season with the aim of boosting the club's record and transmitting his immense experience to the whole group.
Since its first appearance under the Parisian colors on February 4, 2012, in front of the Evian TG, the axial midfielder has played 203 official matches in the PSG jersey.
