Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the UN Security Council to urgently uphold its responsibilities by imposing an immediate ceasefire and halting ongoing acts of genocide, forced displacement, and annexation against the Palestinian people.
It also called for the adoption and implementation of the outcomes of the UN Conference on the Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, according to Palestine's News Agency (WAFA).
In a statement, the Ministry warned of the grave consequences of the Security Council's role in saving the lives of more than two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who live in a tight death spiral of killing, starvation, thirst, and deprivation of medicine, treatment, and all basic human rights.
It stressed that delaying an immediate ceasefire only serves the plans for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.
