NEW DELHI:  Indian police say a highway overpass has collapsed in the crowded city of Calcutta, but there was no immediate word on any deaths or injuries.
A police official, speaking on condition his name not be used, says the collapse occurred Tuesday afternoon in the city's Majerhat neighborhood. TV reports from the scene showed a broken section that appeared to be roughly 100 feet (30 meters) long.
