Amsterdam: The Qatari parachuting team, affiliated with the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces, won first place and the gold medal at the 24th World Championship held in the Netherlands  after collecting 181 points.

The Qatari Cohesion Octagon Parachuting Team won first place and the gold medal after a tough competition with nine other teams participating in the tournament.

The Qatari team was represented in this tournament by Abdullah Al Hammadi, Salem Al Sunaid, Khalifa Al Ali, Ghanem Al Kubaisi, Bilal Al Hajjaj, Abdullah Salem, Saad Al Ali, Mohammed Shams, and Saleh Mohammed Al Mohannadi.

H E Brigadier General Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi, Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, expressed his happiness at this significant achievement, stressing that it is the fruit of the unlimited support that Qatari sports in general receive.

He added: "I congratulate our heroes, the Tamasuk Eight parachute team, on their honorable achievement. They are a source of pride for us all every time the parachute team achieves unprecedented accomplishments and records, especially such an honorable achievement, which requires confidence and continued hard work to achieve clear goals.

Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri, Vice Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, emphasized that this achievement, and Qatar's winning of the gold medal in the world's largest championship, is a significant accomplishment that reflects the development of our national parachuting team and the advancement of this sport in Qatar.

Hazza Hamad Al Attiyah, Secretary General of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, expressed his happiness with the team's achievement, which came after a strong competition among the participants for the top positions. He emphasized that this achievement was made possible thanks to the great support the team receives, and thanks to the determination and resolve of the champions who lived up to expectations and were keen to raise the Qatari flag high in this championship of a high technical standard.

Abdullah Al Hammadi, captain of the Al Tamasuk Eight team, said that the championship included a distinguished group of jumpers, and that what was achieved was a unique accomplishment, adding to the achievements that had been made before. He explained that this great achievement could not have been achieved without the support of everyone.
