Bogota: A Qatari Armed Forces plane arrived in the Republic of Colombia on Friday carrying a fully equipped field hospital donated by the Qatar Fund for Development to support the Colombian people and alleviate their suffering in the wake of the recent earthquake.

The field hospital will support Colombian health authorities and medical facilities in the earthquake-affected areas by providing urgent healthcare to the affected population. This will help strengthen the capacity of the healthcare sector and ensure the continuity of medical services during the emergency response phase.

The Qatari International Search and Rescue Group, part of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), is participating in equipping and delivering the hospital to ensure the rapid commencement of medical services for beneficiaries.

The deployment of the field hospital to Colombia reflects the State of Qatar’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian solidarity, crisis response and providing assistance to those affected by natural disasters. It also underscores Qatar’s ethical responsibility and leading humanitarian role at both the regional and international levels.
