DOHA: The proposed GCC rail network project is on track and a time frame for its implementation will be announced soon, the Minister of Transport H E Jassim bin Seif Al Sulaiti has said.
The minister who returned to Doha after attending the just-concluded17th meeting of GCC Transport ministers in Manama, Bahrain told Al Sharq that the railway project was one of the issues that topped the agenda of the meeting. The meeting also discussed a proposal to adopt uniform GCC guidelines for traffic monitoring and ways to strengthen cooperation in road and sea transport as well as public transport.
