DOHA: A delegation of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce visited Vodafone repair centre located at Souq al Khaleej (Al Khaleej market) to assess the progress of iPhone 5 recall campaign. The delegation was headed by Yousuf Al Suwaidi Assistant Director of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Section at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with Apple had recently announced a recall campaign for iPhone 5 sold during September 2012 to June 2013. The recall programe was announced after the company found a manufacturing defect in the battery.
The defective phones have shorter battery life and users have to charge phone frequently.
