DOHA: The women’s outpatient clinics at the Wakra Hospital will open soon. In the first phase the clinic will conduct only medical check-ups for visitors. Hospital admission and delivery care will be available at a later phase, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
The outpatient clinics of the hospital started functioning in April. The QR1.85bn hospital will be the largest healthcare facility in the country.
Of the total 321 beds, 150 beds were to be be ready in the initial phase. This includes 25 beds each for internal diseases, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and 50 beds for intensive care, according to earier reports.
The hsoptial has separate buildings for women’s healthcare and emergency, operation theatres and intensive care units. Each of the three main hospital buildings has six floors.
The hospital has 321 beds for inpatients and its parking lot has space for 1,000 cars. There are eight gates for entry into the hospital premises.
Recently, the Dental Department of Hamad Medical Corporation announced plans to open ten clinics in Wakra Hopital to ease the stress on the clinics at HMC
Meanwhile, the Hamad International Training Center at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is all set to open its branches at different HMC hospitals.
The center provides training to the staff to improve the quality of the services. Quoting Dr Khalid Abdul Noor, director of the center the daily said in two branches will soon be opened at the Al Khor and Wakra hospitals.
