Georgian president greeted on poll win

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of greetings to Georgian President Georgy Margvelashvili on the occasion of winning the presidential elections in the Republic of Georgia. The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent  a similar cable to  the Georgian president.

Emir appoints ambassadors

 

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued yesterday a number of Emiri Decision appointing Ambassadors.

The Emir Issued Emiri Decision No 142 for 2013 appointing Rashid Mirza Mahmoud Al Mulla Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Cuba.

The Emir Issued Emiri Decision No 143 for 2013 appointing Sultan Saad Sultan Khalaf AL Muraikhi Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic (Greece).

The Emir Issued Emiri Decision No 144 for 2013 appointing Sultan Salmeen Saeed Al Mansouri Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to the  People’s Republic of China.

The Emir Issued Emiri Decision No 146 for 2013 appointing Abdullah Abdulaziz Mohamed Al Mana Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The decisions shall go into effect from the date of issue and are to be published in the official gazette.

QNHG meeting on Wednesday

 

Doha: Qatar Natural History Group (QNHG) will hold its monthly meeting at the Doha English Speaking School on  Wednesday at 7pm.

Dr Sabina Knees, Consultant at the Centre for Middle Eastern Plants (CMEP) and Research Scientist based in Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden, will give a talk on “Extreme Botany – Investigating Plants in the World’s Most Challenging Environments”. 

New members are welcome to join. QNHG membership facilitates participation in archaeological and geological field trips. Further details of the talk and a map of the venue can be found in the Monthly Talks section on www.qnhg.org.
