AMMAN: The Jordanian and the Japanese governments on Sunday signed memoranda of understanding under which Japan will offer the Kingdom $10 million as a contribution to support Jordan in mitigating put by the large number of refugees on its territory.
The agreements were signed by Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Ibrahim Saif and Japanese Ambassador in Amman Junichi Kosuge, Jordan news agency Petra reported.
Saif hailed Japan's support and said it comes at a time when Jordan is experiencing tough economic and social challenges as a result of regional political upheaval, stressing that the grant will be used in collaboration with concerned local authorities. (QNA)
