Qatar Rail to showcase metro project at UITP summit

DOHA: Qatar Rail will showcase Qatar’s metro project at the UITP summit  on public transport being held here today.

The summit will be a platform for ministries, projects owners, and experts for exchange of ideas with the primary players in the sector. It will also provide the platform to discuss industry trends and best practices, as well as the opportunity to brainstorm new ideas with peers in the region in the field of smart solutions of public transport, and traffic flow during big events.

To create awareness about Qatar Rail’s metro project, the company is currently exhibiting the metro design in the Student’s Centre at the Qatar Foundation.

The purpose of the exhibition is to introduce to the students the designs of metro and to update them on the execution phases.

Envoy to Singapore presents credentials

 

Singapore: President of the Republic of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam received yesterday credentials of Mohammed bin Ali Al Maadheed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore.

The Ambassador conveyed greetings of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the President of Singapore, as well as his wishes of good health and happiness to the president, and wishes of further progress and prosperity to the government and the people of Singapore.

The Singaporean president entrusted the Ambassador with his greetings to the Emir, wishing good health and happiness to the Emir, and continued progress, development and prosperity to Qatar.
