DOHA: The public parks department of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has taken the contractor off the ambitious Al Shamal Park project for delaying its execution despite being allowed a grace period and issued repeated warnings, reports Al Sharq. The department took due legal process to act against the contractor who was awarded the work on October 18, 2010. He was supposed to complete it by October 17, 2011. He was then given a grace period of six months but again failed to complete the project. “So ultimately we had to remove him,” said Mohamed Al Khouri, director of the department.
