Repainting and maintenance work on Corniche road
Doha, Qatar: The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced the completion of comprehensive rehabilitation and enhancement works along 7km of the Doha Corniche, which is considered one of the country’s most prominent tourist destinations.
This is also a part of Ashghal’s ongoing efforts to develop the road network in Qatar and improve the quality of life in vital areas.
Corniche road improvements included upgrading the asphalt layers using the latest advanced paving technologies. Approximately 30,500 tons of asphalt were used to ensure high quality and durability that is expected to last for many years.
The road markings were repainted, concrete structures and sidewalks were maintained and repainted according to the highest approved standards. These improvements helped enhance the aesthetic appearance of the Corniche and highlight it as a distinguished urban landmark for the city of Doha.
To ensure smooth traffic flow during the implementation of the works, Ashghal coordinated with the relevant authorities and the General Directorate of Traffic to secure closures without affecting overall movement, with most of the work carried out during nighttime hours and weekends.
