Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Emiri Decision No. 90 of 2014, appointing Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Saud Al Thani as CEO, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).
The Emir also issued Emiri Decision No. 89 of 2014, reshuffling the QIA Board of Directors.
The new board comprises Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani as Chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani as Vice-Chairman, and Ali Sharif Al Emadi, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani and Dr Hussein Ali Al Abdullah as members.
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Emiri Decision No. 88 of 2014, amending some provisions of Emiri Decision No. 37 of 2001 on the establishment of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment.
The council has been reconstituted with the Emir as Chairman, the Deputy Emir as Vice-Chairman, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister (Executive Member), the Foreign Minister, the Minister of Energy and Industry, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Economy and Commerce, the Governor of Qatar Central Bank, the Economic Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and two representatives from Qatar Investment Authority as members.
Tehran: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has denounced the biased media campaigns questioning Qatar’s sovereign right to host FIFA World Cup in 2022.
It also condemned false information and non-neutral reports, despite Qatar winning the bid through honest and transparent competition.
At the conclusion of the 10th meeting of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Information, OIC confirmed that the hosting of FIFA 2022 in Qatar is an achievement for the OIC members and the right of the peoples of the Islamic world.
The ministers urged joint action by institutions and the media in OIC states to support Qatar and refute false media tactics and incitement. QNA
