Macklin Vernon Leon celebrated the start of the new season with a bang yesterday when he guided El Jaish to a convincing 85-62 win against Al Arabi.
It was El Jaish's opening game of the basketeball league season in Qatar.
Hani Fadi also exhibited quality form when he dunked 20 points for El Jaish. Fadi also managed 7 assists.
Davon Dominic was the third El Jaish player to hit the double figures when he completed 18 points for the winners at Al Gharafa Sports Club. For Al Arabi, Adako Emmanuel Osaro impressed with his tally of 20 points while team-mate Saaka Adamu scored 18 points and managed 4 assists.
Gueye Momar Talla scored 10 points for Al Arabi. Dawood Mohamad chipped in with 8 points while team-mate Ndour Mame Souleye scored 6.
In the day's second game at the same venue, Al Gharafa beat Al Khor 90-68.
On the opening day of the league, Al Rayyan crushed Al Ahli 93-75 while Qatar SC beat A Sadd 74-72.
