Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center concluded the activities of the Umrah programme for outstanding Qatari students in private schools, which was held from December 25 to January 2.
The programme was organised in coordination between the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. It included comprehensive educational, instructional, cultural, and recreational activities.
The programme featured the performance of Umrah rituals, visits to the holy sites in Arafat and Mina, and learning about key landmarks of the Prophet’s biography in Makkah Al-Mukarramah through tours of significant sites such as Mount Hira and Mount Thawr.
The students also visited the city of Taif, where they spent a full day of recreational activities.
They then proceeded to Madinah, where they prayed in the Prophet’s Mosque, visited the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and visited Al-Baqi Cemetery. In addition, they explored important landmarks of the Prophet’s biography, including Quba Mosque, Mount Uhud, Al-Mustazill Garden, and other sites.
The programme also included a variety of lectures, lessons, motivational competitions, and interactive discussions with students, along with a strong emphasis on recreation by allocating appropriate time for it.
The programme aims to build a well-balanced personality for Qatari students, combining academic excellence with a strong focus on faith and its reinforcement in their hearts.
