DOHA: Strong winds and a further rise in temperature are expected today as the country would come under the impact of a ridge of high pressure extending from Saudi Arabia by this evening.
The Meteorology Department has also warned of poor visibility in some areas due to heavy fog early morning today.
Temperature would reach up to 26-29 degrees Celsius in Doha and some other areas over the next two days and the minimum temperature would settle between 15-18 degrees Celsius.
The high pressure would weaken on Saturday and the wind speed would subside to moderate levels.
The Department has forecast fresh north westerly winds inshore and a fresh to strong wind offshore with speeds ranging between 15-25 knots.
By Monday there would be another ridge of high pressure from the south of Iran extension to the Gulf and a trough of low pressure over Saudi Arabia, accompanied by strong southerly-south easterly winds.
The strong winds are expected to continue until February with chances of dust and low visibility.
