Beirut,--At least 35 people were killed Thursday by Syrian government air strikes on rebel-held areas around Damascus, after opposition fighters fired dozens of mortar rounds into the capital, a monitor said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least four children were among the dead in the regime strikes on the Eastern Ghouta region outside the capital.
