Doha: General Manager of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF) Professor Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti inaugurated the accompanying events of the festival yesterday.
The festival is held under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The festival offers a diverse range of accompanying events that continue until February 12. These include specialised art exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and cultural activities highlighting the Arabian horse and its place in heritage and the arts, within the framework of Katara’s vision to solidify authentic Arab culture and enhance its presence in the contemporary cultural landscape.
On Tuesday, the “Symphony of Authenticity – The Voice of the Earth” exhibition by visual artist Ali Al-Maamar was inaugurated.
The opening was attended by Deputy General Manager and Director of Human Resources at Katara Saif Saad Al-Dosari and a large audience of culture and heritage enthusiasts. This event is part of a comprehensive cultural and artistic programme that complements one of the most prominent international heritage festivals specialising in Arabian horses.
The exhibition, housed in Building 47 – Hall 2, serves as the opening stop for the accompanying events, offering a profound visual experience that evokes the Arabian horse as a symbol of authenticity and an organic connection to the land, humanity, and identity.
For his part, artist Ali Al-Maamar explained that the sixth edition of “Symphony of Authenticity” represents a qualitative shift in his artistic journey, noting that this current edition carries a different character from its predecessors by focusing on “the scent and sound of the earth,” and embodying the sensory relationship between the horse, the clay, and the land, considering them the primary source of authenticity.
