Doha, Qatar: Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation, in partnership with TotalEnergies Research Center in Qatar (TRCQ), announced the launch of the QSTP x TRCQ WaterTech Accelerator, a dedicated program designed to support WaterTech and water DeepTech startups developing scalable solutions and exploring the application of new digital and AI tools to address critical water challenges across the MENA region.
The initiative aligns with Qatar Foundation’s strategic focus on sustainability to support national and regional resilience, focusing on measurable impact.
The WaterTech Accelerator follows the recent launch of the QSTP’s FemTech Accelerator in partnership with Merck, an initiative that supports startups improving women’s health across the region. Together, these programs establish QSTP as a regional launchpad for sector specific innovation.
Through QSTP’s innovation ecosystem and TotalEnergies’ technical expertise, selected startups will benefit from curated mentorship and practical market engagement.
Participants will gain exposure to government stakeholders, corporates and investors, while exploring collaboration opportunities within the region’s innovation and infrastructure landscape.
Rama Chakaki, President, QSTP, said: “Water scarcity isn’t a future problem for the region, it’s a present one. What excites me about this accelerator is that we’re not just talking about the challenge, we’re building the ecosystem to solve it. By bringing together innovative startups with TotalEnergies’ expertise, we’re positioning Qatar as the place where water solutions get built and deployed.”
Antoine Delafargue, Managing Director of TotalEnergies EP Qatar and Country Chair, said: “Our research center in Qatar is focused on exploring new technologies to address operational challenges faced by our industry.
