Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday issued decrees, setting up Supreme Council of Police College and appointing top officials of the college.
Decree No. 16 of 2014 appointed Brig. Dr Mohammed Abdulla Talib Al Mahanna Al Marri as Director-General and decree No. 17 of 2014 appointed Dr Hassan Abdul Raheem Al Sayyed as Dean of Academic Affairs.
Decree No. 18 of 2014 appointed Capt. Dr Jabr Hammoud Jabr Al Nuaimi as Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs Department and Capt. Fahd Saeed Al Subaiee as Director of Training Department.
Decree No. 19 of 2014 set up the council chaired by the Premier, with Maj. Gen. Dr Abdullah Yousuf Al Maal, Legal Adviser to the Interior Minister as Vice-Chairman,
Members include Brig. Dr Mohammed Abdullah Talib Al Mahanna Al Marri, Director General of the college, Brig. Mahdi Mutlaq Al Qahtani, Director of Training and Patrols Department, Lekhwiya, Brig. Badr Ibrahim Al Ghanem, Director of Technical Office of the Interior Minister (also Rapporteur), Col. Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, Director of Strategic Planning Department, the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Hassan Abdul Raheem Al Akoor, Dean of Faculty of Law, Qatar University, Dr. Khaled Mohammed Al Hur, Dr Yousuf Mohammed Obaidan Fakhroo and Dr Ahmed Hassan Al Hadi.
The four-year membership can be extended for similar periods.
The council will establish a work system, including rules to exercise its powers and overcome any obstacles. It can also set up sub-committees or working groups.
