Doha: The 5th edition of the GCC Women's Games will be held in Doha from March 7 to 17.
The games, under the auspices of H E Sheikha Hind bin Hamad Al Thani, will see 891 athletes and technical teams representing four Gulf countries - Bahrain, Oman, UAE and host Qatar - participating.
The female athletes will participate in 10 games: basketball, handball, table tennis, volleyball, chess, athletics, archery, fencing, taekwondo and bowling.
The Opening Ceremony will be held in Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on March 7.
President of Qatar Women Sport Committee (QWSC) Lulua Al Marri revealed the details of the tournament in a press conference held today at the QWSC headquarter.
She explained that the opening ceremony will be held at 7:30 pm Doha local time, in Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex, adding that the ceremony will be simple and classy to commensurate with the greatness of the Gulf Women Sport.
