Doha, Qatar: Al Jazeera reported on Thursday that a fire sparked by an Iranian missile strike at Bahrain’s main oil refinery has been fully contained, authorities said.

In a statement, Bahrain’s National Communication Centre said the blaze broke out at a unit of the Bapco Energies refinery on the island of Sitra following the strike.

Officials said there were no reported injuries and refinery operations were continuing, with an assessment of the damage underway, according to Al Jazeera.

The refinery is run by Bahrain’s state oil company Bapco and is located on the east coast of Sitra, south of the capital Manama.
