The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said it recorded 30 casualties, including four dead and 26 injured, in various incidents during the Holy Week.
In its latest bulletin, NDRRMC said most of the casualties were due to vehicular accidents while two persons died from drowning and another was killed in grenade blast.
The NDRRMC identified the fatalities as Hilbert Barnido, who died in a vehicular accident in Barangay Tacub, Kauswag, Lanao del Norte; Reylan Hustuhan, 39, who was killed in a grenade blast in Purok 5, Barangay Talakag, Bukidnon; Novie Sumili, 14, and Glezel Jane Salahay, 18, who both died from drowning.
Sumili and Salahay were initially reported missing after they went swimming in Lake Apo, Barangay Guinoyoran, Valencia City, Bukidnon, last March 29. Their bodies were recovered April 1.
Meanwhile, among 26 injured, eight were local tourists who were swimming in Barangay Sibali, Diguisit, Baler, Aurora when they were hit by big waves around 2:00 p.m. last April 3.
Another victim, Mary Oblad, was injured in the grenade blast in Bukidnon.
Meanwhile, 17 others sustained injuries in the vehicular accident at Barangay Tacub, Kauswag, Lanao Del Norte.
