Geneva: Qatar has blamed the Syrian regime for the continued human rights abuses and the tragic human conditions of the Syrian people, who were forced to defend themselves as the regime resorted to violence in response to the legitimate demands of
Syrians.
H E Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Qatar’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva, said this yesterday while addressing the 23rd session of the Human Rights Council as part of an interactive discussion with the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria.
Qatar has also strongly condemned the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by government forces and militias who have been killing innocent Syrians, with the most recent incident taking place in the city of Al-Qusayr.
