Doha: International Bank of Qatar (ibq) wrapped up its fifth Ramadan ‘Do Good deeds’ campaign, a community outreach initiative launched in 2009 as part of the bank’s belief in supporting the community and improving the lives of children and the elderly.
The campaign saw the bank’s management and team joining hands to bring happiness and smile and offering gifts to children and the elderly, fostering a joyful atmosphere during Ramadan.
Again this year, ibq partnered with W Doha Hotel & Residences to roll out a healthy iftar banquet catering to the elderly of Al Rumeilah Hospital with nutritional and balanced meals that suit different medical cases. The bank also distributed basic needs to patients. Children of Dhreima Friends Club were also presented with gifts, bringing joy and fun in addition to a show by kids’ famous cartoon characters at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha. The bank celebrated Garangao with kids at the paediatrics ward of Hamad General Hospital and Al Rumeilah Hospital. It hosted a staff suhoor at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha where staff donations, an initiative started in 2009, were made for the month, with proceeds going to the paediatric ward of Al Rumeilah Hospital.
Jabra Ghandour, Managing Director of ibq, said: “This was an extremely rewarding experience for all of us at ibq. Every time we start our annual ‘Do Good Deeds’ campaign in the month of charity, we always have a strong feeling that whatever we achieved has truly topped off anything else we’ve done in the past, this feeling grows year on year with these purposeful initiatives. Our campaign is in line with our deeply ingrained philosophy that urges every ibq staff member to do his/her best to add value anywhere they are.” The Peninsula
