2014 Arab Woman Awards Qatar to be held on Oct 20

Doha: For the third consecutive year, Arab Woman Awards will pay tribute to the inspirational, high achieving women of Qatar. 
The 2014 Awards will take place at InterContinental Doha-The City on October 20.
Launched by ITP in 2009, the awards are considered one of the most prestigious that recognise Arab women’s achievements in the fields of business, arts, medicine and charity. 
Since its launch, the awards have gained prominence over the years, with a strong presence in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
So far the awards have recognised achievements of over 200 women and paid homage to ambitious personalities who, through their exceptional determination and dedication, provide positive role models for younger generations. 
This year’s judges board will be chaired by Honorary Chairperson of the Qatar Judges Board Bothaina Al Ansari; H R Director for Ooredoo and Board member of Qatar Businesswomen Association, Dr Eiman Al Ansari; Director of National Development, Sidra Medical and Research Center, Mishael Al Ansari; Marketing and Communication Director,  Anti-Doping Lab Qatar, Aisha Al Bedded; Creative Director, DarzDesigns, Amal Al Athem; Visual Arts Expert, the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage and Nadine El Chaer; Chief Editor Ahaln! Arabia. 
Bothaina Al Ansari said:  ‘I am honoured to be part of the awards again this year to celebrate accomplishments and abilities of Qatar’s women.
“The awards are a testament to the development of women in our society and recognition of their achievements is an important step in encouraging and supporting their journey. 
“Arab women have played an instrumental role in their societies and earned recognition they heartily deserve.”
The winners this year will be nominated by members of the Judges Board that have been selected by ITP based on their integrity and expertise in their fields.
The board will follow strict criteria provided by ITP which include nominees’ achievements in the past 12 months and the impact of their work on Qatar to select winners.
The Arab Woman Awards Qatar will be hosted by Aljazeera anchor, Fairouz Ziani. Winners will be awarded at a red carpet dinner at Intercontinental Doha – The City, in association with Tanagra, Sayidaty and Qatar Businesswomen Association.
