Sheikh Joaan visits Qatari athletes at the Olympic Games Village in Rio

Rio de Janeiro: President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani met on Wednesday with Qatari Olympians taking part in the Rio 2016 games.
The Qatari team is continuing its preparation for the biggest sporting event. The Olympic village is hosting 18,000 athletes and 13,000 employees and volunteers who are working around the clock to provide the comfort and care the participating delegations require.
Qatar is participating in this edition with its biggest ever sporting delegation. Some 10 federations represented by 38 athletes are taking part in this year’s Olympic Games.  The world will set its sights on the Maracana Stadium were the opening ceremony for the Olympics will take place. The stadium is considered one of the most famous and largest stadiums in South America. It was first opened in 1948, then again in 2010.
