QSL ramps up preparations ahead of new season

Doha: The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has ramped up their preparations for the new season by launching the club media day. 
Speaking to QSL’s official web site, Qatari international midfielder, Al Gharafa’s  Abdulaziz Hatem pointed out how the reduction in the league will lead to an interesting QSL season.
“This season we will have more clubs going down, that will certainly increase competition in the lower half of the table. We will have to do our best to push on and compete higher in the table,” he said.
The former Al Arabi midfielder also noted the comprehensive preseason training under Pedro Caixinia can only benefit the Cheetahs. 
“We have trained well in preseason, the squad and the coaching staff are working well together the group believes we can achieve things this season.”
Talk turned to Gharafa’s aims this season; however Hatam was eager to stress that it is still early days for his side. 
“The league season in long and we have to take it step by step. We must start well and then we can see if we can compete for trophies.”
Concluding the interview Hatam praised the QSL for putting on the event. 
“Events like a media day underline the professionalism of the league. It gets the squad together and excited for the start of the league.”
Lekhiwya’s latest accusation Yusef El Arabi revealed his excited to be taking part in the QSL, at the annual media day event.
The striker signed a three year deal with the Red Knights over the summer revealed that his is aiming for silverware in his first QSL season; “I am pleased to have joined Lekhwiya, and now I am looking forward to playing in the QSL, of course I believe that we have a strong squad and that we can compete on all fronts for a trophy.”
While the former Granada striker also revealed some personal goal scoring targets ahead of the big kick-off on September 15. 
“For sure my aim is to be the top scorer in the league, I did last season with my old club (Granada) and I am expected to the same with Lekhiwya,” he added.
