Doha: The birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated in ICC Ashoka hall on October2. The event started with a live quiz with 12 finalists from ensuing preliminaries conducted by quiz master Kishore Venkateshan.
Rohit Birla and Arihanth Vijayakumar won the quiz contest while Renzil Jaison Dsouza and Deepak Purushottam Patel were 1st runners up and Shafqat Nabi and Francis Jayanth Jeyapaul were second runners up.
Dr Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to Qatar, inaugurated an exhibition about Mahatma Gandhi and freedom movement-related paintings by Visual Arts Qatar.
Prizes were distributed to winners of competitions organized by the North Indian Association as part of the Hindi Diwas celebrations. ICBF Insurances were presented to ten Indian workers as well.
A cultural show by Barwa Community Monday Activity Group, Bharat Darshan, depicting India’s freedom struggle was also presented during the celebration.
