Khaled Al Jaber and Faleh Hussain Al Hajiri
DOHA: Khaled Al Jaber, a noted Qatari writer and columnist has been appointed as deputy Editor-in-Chief of Al Sharq.
Faleh Hussain Al Hajiri has been appointed as Deputy Editor for local affairs and Abdul Azeez Ahmed Marafi, as acting editor for sports. Abdullatheef Al Mahmoud, General Manager of Dar Al Sharq issued a circular announcing the new appointments. The three Qataris are joining the daily as part of a policy to recruit more qualified nationals to senior journalistic positions. Al Jaber holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Qatar University and a doctorate in international media and journalism from Lester University in the UK.
Recently he was working as public relations director at Katara Cultural Village. He had also worked with the Foreign Ministry, Al Jazeera network and The Peninsula.
Al Hajari holds a bachelor degree in mass communication from the Qatar University and was previously working with Al Rayyan magazine. Al Marafi, who holds a bachelor degree from Qatar University in social service, had previously worked with Al Douri Wal Kas channel and Saqr sports magazine.
