Minister to open MENA transport summit tomorrow

DOHA: The Minister of State for Interior Affairs H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani will open the first UITP MENA Public Transport and Large Events Summit here tomorrow.

The two-day conference to be held at the Hilton Hotel, will focus on intelligent transport solutions for large events. The event is hosted by Mowasalat. 

About 250 delegates from various parts of the world have registered for the conference, which will have 28 speakers. UITP officials from Brussels and the region, representatives from the Qatari ministries and government organisations, senior stakeholders in Qatar developmental projects, major business partners of Mowasalat  and Mowasalat’s senior officials will attend the event.

The Opening ceremony is scheduled for 9.30 am tomorrow and the sessions will  take place from 11am until 5 pm. There will be a gala dinner for the guests in with a musical show.

The participating organizations include the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Qatar Olympic Committee, Qatar Airways, Qatar Railways Company, Qatari Diar, Qatar Tourism Authority, Qatar Foundation, a youth delegation from various universities, the disabled community, other regional stakeholders, members of UITP (the organiser) and speakers from various parts.
