Ma. Josefina Dela Cruz, the Philippine Postmaster General, poses with a copy of a Haiyan stamp inside the post office in Manila yesterday. The stamp, which costs 10 pesos (24 cents) per piece, will be launched on the one-year anniversary of the onslaught of super Typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban City, central Philippines, that killed thousands of residents on November 8. The stamp features an illustration of a growing plant symbolising new life after the destruction of natural disasters with the help of different countries, and a rising sun symbolising hope, and “Tindog” means “Rise”, describing the tenacity of Filipinos during those challenging times.
