Qatar Exchange index gains 18.70 points

Doha: Qatar Exchange (QE) index gained 18.70 points,  or 0.14 percent when the bourse closed at 13,799.29 points yesterday.
The traded value dropped to QR495.839m from QR663.364m  on Monday. The traded volume dropped to 11,374,078 shares from 5,550 transactions yesterday compared to 12,121,393 shares from 6,414 transactions on Monday.
The market capitalisation increased to QR744.895bn from QR743.040bn on Monday.
All indices ended in the green zone yesterday, barring telecoms which dropped 0.73 percent when it closed the day at 1,565.44 points. 
Transport index gained the most up 0.88 percent to 2,392.31 points followed by consumer goods and services index, up 0.39 percent to 7,313.74 points while real estate  gained 0.18 percent to 2,754.71 points. 
From the 43 listed companies, 23 gained, 17 declined and three remained unchanged.
Meanwhile, shares in Saudi Arabian telecommunications firm Mobily plunged their 10 percent daily limit yesterday after the firm restated 18 months of earnings and posted a shock profit drop, undermining the entire stock market.
Mobily, the counry’s second biggest telecommunications operator, tumbled to a 21-month closing low of 72.00 riyals at the opening and remained at that level for the rest of the day.
At the close, about 310,000 of Mobily’s shares had traded while sell orders of about 27.6 million shares were unfulfilled, indicating the stock could decline further on Wednesday.
Most other Gulf markets were flat or suffered minor declines, but telecommunications firms fared poorly across the region.
