Kampala - Ugandan police were able to rescue 11 people in a sinking boat accident Northwest the country, while seven are still missing.
The boat, overloaded with fish and timber, was carrying 18 people when it overturned on Lake Albert in the country's Northwest due to strong winds, police spokesman Julius Hakiiza said in a statement, adding that rescue teams were able to rescue 11 people, while seven are still missing as the searches continue.
Boat accidents occur frequently in the East African country, mostly due to overloading, poor weather conditions and people travelling long distances using old wooden vessels.
