Emir briefed on Education City projects

The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani views one of Qatar Foundation projects during a visit to the Education City yesterday.

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (the Education City) and got acquainted with QF’s current and future projects.
The Emir was briefed on plans for the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030 and QF’s contribution to pushing forward Qatar’s economy and development.
The Emir also was given an explanation on the curricula and educational services and Education City projects, including  student accommodation, Metro and national library.
The Emir toured departments where he was briefed by officials on QF’s efforts to invest in human capital and capabilities within the educational system to produce distinctive students,  well-equipped with science and knowledge.
The Emir then visited the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the Academic Bridge Programme, and Texas A&M University, where officials updated him on the laboratory gas for converting natural gas to high-quality products such as jet fuel; the water and environment laboratory collaborating with government departments on strategies; and the communication laboratory for training and development of technologies.
The Emir also visited Student Centre and exchanged views with students on their career aspirations. 
The Emir urged them to be diligent and acquire skills to be active and creative members to serve their country and community.
