DOHA: A key GCC conference to discuss politics and economy in light of changes taking place across the world opens tomorrow.
Politicians, academics and experts from the region and outside will present some 70 research papers at 20 sessions of the three-day forum.
Under the patronage of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Doha-based Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies is organising the forum at Ritz-Carlton Doha.
Papers include one on challenges facing the identity of GCC states in view of large expatriate populations. The influence of foreigners on GCC cultures and vice versa will also be discussed.
Former GCC secretary-general Abdulrahman Al Attiyah will open the forum in the evening. The legal and political situation of Palestinians based in the GCC states will also be discussed.
