More than 2,300 winter camps have been registered during 2016 /2017 winter camping season in all land and sea areas. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment asked all campers to follow camping rules or face action.

Saad Ibraheem Al Kaabi, General Coordinator for camping during winter, said that inspectors of Environmental Protection, Reserves & Wildlife Department will pay inspection visits to see how campers comply with the regulations.

Stressed on the importance of cleaning, he said that the wastes must be put in designated places, mentioning that the wastes containers were available all places for campers.

“Campers must remain within specified space, and one camper is allowed to plant a maximum of five trees”, he said.

“Most beaches are open for visitors and camping is banned in these beaches like ‘Marih’, Al Ghariya beach and Fuwairit beach among others”. he added.
