DOHA: A cold and windy weekend is ahead for people in Qatar as the Meteorology Department has forecast significant fall in the temperature that will be accompanied by strong winds on Thursday.
“On Thursday, a high pressure extending from the Northwest of Saudi Arabia will affect the country. Strong northwesterly winds affecting the whole country, associated with a cold front will cause a marked decrease in temperature,” said Qatar Meteorology Department. The maximum temperature is expected to be 16-20 degrees celsius while the minimum is likely to be 10-14 degrees in Doha. It is also expected to be lower than 8 degrees in the southern part of the country.
According to the department, there is a slight chance of rain. “With the existence of a cold air mass in the upper air levels, some low and medium clouds are expected to form with a chance of light rain in the area,” said the department.
