Doha: Aysha Al Suwaidi claimed the gold medal in the women’s 10m Rifle event while Hanadi Salem took the gold in the 10m Pistol event at the Qatar Cup which kicked off at Losail Shooting Complex on Monday.
The competitions is organised by Qatar Shooting and Archery Association.
Bahiya Al Hamad finished second 10m Rifle while Mahbouba Akhlaqi settled in third place.
In 10m Pistol Event, Nasra Mohammad and Mozah Al Suwaidi clinched the second and third places respectively.
Besides the Pistol and Rifle events, shooters will vie for top places in Shotgun events. The championship concludes on January 18. The event will serve as a good preparation for the Asian Shooting Championship to be heldin New Delhi from January 25 to February 6.
