DOHA: On behalf of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani attended the opening ceremony of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup held in Iraq’s city of Basra this evening, January 6.
HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani arrived at Basra International Airport earlier today and received a warm welcome from the Governor of Basra Province, HE Asaad Al Eidani.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino and President of Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation and Qatar Football Association HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani also attended the opening ceremony.
The 25th Arabian Gulf Cup Championships will run until January 19.
