Sixteen teams will be vying for top honours in the inaugural edition of the QFA Amateur Cup, the draw for which was held yesterday.
The participating teams have been clubbed into four groups in the draw conducted by Ibrahim Shaheen, Chairman of the Organising Committee, and members of the Organising Committee, Khalid Al Rumaihi and Yousef Al Suqairi.
First round of matches will see Copros United take on Al-Kabaan, Doha take on Al-Waab, Ezdan take on Al-Bidda and Al-Qalayel take on Al-Quds, with the 16 teams competing for the highly coveted prize.
The tournament will be played on league-cum-knock-out system.
The teams will be playing their respective league matches in the 4 groups, with the top two teams of each group qualifying for the knock-out stage.
The final of the competition will be on March 31.
The tournament will kick off on February 21 and run until March 31.
Group stage matches will be played every Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 and 9pm, while quarter-finals will be held on March 14, and the semi-finals on March 21.
Organised by the Qatar Football Association, the QFA Amateur Cup is a community competition aimed at bringing football teams from Qatar’s social, corporate and government sectors together in a tournament.

Group B: Ezdan, Al-Qalayel, Al-Quds, Al-Bidda
Group C: Madinat Khalifa, Al-Matar, EIS Pearl CFC, Al-Rifaa
Group D: Al-Udayd, Amwaj, Lusail, Al-Mamoura
