New Delhi: Sahara chief Subrata Roy, sent to judicial custody till March 11 by the Supreme Court, ate a single roti with dal as he spent Tuesday night in the Tihar Jail. Roy has been lodged in barrack No. 4 along with two directors of his company — Ashok Roy Choudhary and Ravi Shankar Dubey. Jail officials said yesterday that the three were heard talking till late in the night on the legal battle that lies ahead of them.
The Supreme Court sent Roy and two others to judicial custody till they present a concrete proposal to return the balance of Rs19,000 crore they collected from investors through optionally fully convertible debentures. Also, a lawyer who threw ink at Sahara chief outside the Supreme Court premises was sent to Tihar jail. Special Executive Magistrate Rai Singh Khatri sent Manoj Sharma to judicial custody till March 11.
