DOHA: The government has asked the private sector to develop itself to be able to bag mega development projects being launched for 2022 FIFA World Cup and as part of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has told members of the country’s trade and industry that they must gear themselves up for a bigger role in big-ticket development projects.
The Prime Minister had told members of Qatar Chamber and Qatar Businessmen’s Association at a meeting on Wednesday that transparency and equal opportunities awaited the private sector in the award of mega projects related to 2022 and Qatar National Vision 2030.
“The chamber (representative body of the private sector) is making all-out effort to ensure that private players’ role in mega development projects and the national economy is widened,” Al Sharq quoted the chamber’s Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassem Al Thani as saying.
