DOHA: In recognition of its leading role in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, Qatar CSR Network has honoured Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) for the second year in a row along with other entities during a ceremony held at Qatar University under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. The event was held as part of honouring CSR leaders in Qatar for 2015.
Ali Hamad Al Mesaifri, Director of Human Resources and Public Services at QIIB received the commemorative shield from Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham, President of Qatar University, during the ceremony that also witnessed the launching of the fourth annual national report on CSR.
Commenting on the honour bestowed on QIIB for its efforts in CSR and the overall service to society, Al Mesaifri said: “We, at QIIB, are proud to be honoured for the second time in a row, but we are more proud to continuously support the activities that serve society and provide added value as we seek to be efficient and contribute in the achievement of sustainable development”.
He said, “We constantly work realising the ethical principles that we comply with in all our transactions, including those related to non-profit activities. The bank’s commitment to CSR is undisputable and its support covers various activities, be it in the field of education, religion, health, sport, culture or others”.
“QIIB’s responsibility is manifested first in the introduction of high-quality banking products and services that meet the society’s needs. QIIB also strives to achieve growth by implementing standards and controls that are in line with the economic development of various sectors.
