The Qatar Stars League (QSL) side Al Gharafa have confirmed a friendly match with Arabian Gulf League side Al Shabab, as the Cheetahs map their preparations with the league taking a break for the World Cup Qualifiers.
The club officials yesterday confirmed that players have been given a ten day break by head coach Pedro Caixinia until March 18 before resuming training for their round 23 clash against Umm Salal, which is slated on April 2. The friendly match against Al Shabab is set to take place on March 24. The venue is yet to be decided.
Al Gharafa are currently in fifth place in the QSL standings, and have a tally of 37 points from 22 QSL games.
Meanwhile, El Jaish have confirmed a friendly match with Qatar Gas League side Al Shamal during the break.
The Sabri Lamouchi’s side is set play the friendly tie on March 21.
The French coach will be hoping that his team can build on the momentum of recent weeks in the QSL which saw the soldiers pick up back to back victories in the league.
El Jaish are currently in fourth place in the QSL standings, having picked up 45 points from 23 QSL games.
