Qatari swimmers dominated the 14th GCC Swimming Championship (25m), organised by Qatar Swimming Association, which ended on Saturday.
In the U-17 category, Qatari swimmers collected a total of 51 medals. The swimmers won a total of 32 gold medals, 11 silver, and 8 bronze ones. In second place was the UAE, collecting a total of 41 medals, followed by Bahrain who collected 29 medals.
On Thursday, Qatar U-17 swimmers collected a total of 21 medals, nine gold, seven silver, and five bronze ones. UAE, finished in second place, collecting a total of 19 medals and the third place was Oman with a total of nine medals.
Chairman of Arab Swimming Confederation Taha Al Kishry crowned the Qatari team and handed the trophies. President of Qatar Swimming Association (QSA) Khaleel Al Jabir expressed delight with the results and congratulated the members of QSA and the technical committees on the great success.
